Megève is located in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It is a legendary ski resort close to the Mont-Blanc in the French Alps. Many people consider it one of the most beautiful resorts in the world.
REASONS TO GO
Megève, also known as the "Evasion Mont-blanc" covers around 445 km and has some of the best Skiing Piste's in Europe;
The most glamorous après-ski in all France and with some of the best restaurants;
To sea the beautiful medieval town.
TO AVOID
Avoid going between May and November because many of the hotels and restaurants are closed.
ORIENTATION
Megève is only one hour driving from Geneva airport. It is located in the foothills of Mont Blanc, close to Chamonix and the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
BEST TIME TO GO
As many things close outside the winter time, its best to go between December and March. In this month (particularly the first two weeks) the snow level will be perfect and it won’t be as crowded as in February.
HOW TO GET THERE
The closest airport is in Geneva, 70 km away by the Autoroute Blanche (www.gva.ch/en). Megève is one hour by car and 90 by bus.
TRAVELLING AROUND
The village centre is closed to traffic. Five ski-bus lines roll through town and out to most of the major lift stations.
