Boston is located on the north-eastern coastline of the United States and is the largest city in New England, and the capital of the state of Massachusetts. This city is very rich in history and tradition, and at the same time very energetic and modern. It has many museums, historical sights, and a great deal of live performances.

ORIENTATION

Boston is a city mostly surrounded by water, being bordered by the Mystic River on the north and the Neponset River on the south. On the west, the Charles River separates the city from its neighbour Cambridge.

Boston has many pleasant neighbourhoods with good restaurants and antique stores. Back Bay is a residential area with an amazing blend of architectural styles including Victorian, Italianate, and Gothic Revival. Other parts of the city worth visiting are Beacon Hill, Boston´s North End and Cambridge.

 

 

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Summer is the peak tourist season in Boston, although it´s hot and humid days. In the winter, the city can get very cold, with dark and wet days.

The best seasons to visit Boston are fall or spring, with perfect weather, mild sunny days and great colours.

 

HOW TO GET THERE

 

Logan International Airport is located two miles from the city centre, with several public airport transportation options from downtown and suburban locations. There are many bus companies with non-stop service to and from the airport, and running every 15-30 minutes. The MBTA subway's Blue Line will take you into the city in about twenty minutes and you can also take the Airport Water Shuttle to the Rowe Wharf on the Boston NE Waterfront.

The easiest way to get around and visit Boston is on foot or by subway.

 

Boston´s public transportation also known as The "T" offers subway, bus, commuter rail and boat service that can take you almost everywhere in the Greater Boston area and beyond.
